Depression can sneak up on people when they’re least aware of it. If you think
you have any of the following signs it is advised you seek help from a
professional.
Signs of Depression:

Physical Appearance:
Slow movements, unkempt appearance, sad face.

Reduced Activity:
Lethargy, lack of motivation. A person no longer does the activities he/she used
to enjoy.

Withdrawal:
Wanting to be alone, no desire to socialize.

Unhappy feelings:
expressing sad, hopeless feelings.

Physical Problems:
Sleeping problems, weight problems (loss or gain), decreased sexual interest,
complaints of aches and pains.
Taking
care of Depression:

Face up to it:
Accept that you are depressed and tell your family how you feel.

Stay active: Make an effort to do the things you liked doing before you were depressed.

Eat Well:
Eat a well balanced diet with energy giving foods; fruit, vegetables.

Seek Professional Help:
Talk over your depressed feelings with your doctor, a counsellor, a psychologist,
your minister or a good friend.

Relax:
Practice relaxation techniques whenever you can.
