Every way we turn we find people in crisis who are searching for help. The Diocese of Armidale recognised this need and, in faith, set up the Anglican Counselling Service in 1986 with a network of trained counsellors in various parts of the Diocese. Our counsellors spend time with people who want to talk about all kinds of issues. This is a ministry which counsellors can do in their parishes, so please pray for them.
Not all who come can afford to pay for this service. We do not want to be a financial drain on our parishes or Diocese and we recognise that times are not easy, but we are inviting people to share in this ministry with us prayerfully and financially.
The Friends Newsletter is published every three months. It is sent to people who have expressed an interest in being a Friend of the Anglican Counselling Service/Anglicare - Northern Inland and support ANI in prayer and financially.
If you would like to become a Friend of the ACS/ANI please go to the Enquiry Form and sign up.
Some areas have support groups who meet with the local counsellors for prayer. If you would like to join, or start, such a group in your area, phone your local counsellors, or in Tamworth contact Mr Larry Apthorpe (Executive Director) on
02 6701 8200.
As a Friend of the ACS/ANI, we appreciate your prayer support, & your financial support. At any time you may make a tax-deductible donation by sending a cheque (include return address for receipt) or by ringing the receptionist at the Tamworth Counselling Centre on 02 6701 8200 with your credit card details.
