The Warning
Signs:

Talking,
writing or hinting about wanting to die e.g. "You'd be better off without me"

Making final
arrangements - e.g. checking wills, insurance policies etc.

Giving away
the things they really care about, or own

Feeling
no-one cares about them, and they don't care about anything

Telling
people they feel hopeless, useless, depressed, sad, nervous or distant from
friends and family

Attempts at
hurting themselves

Behaving
recklessly - eg driving too fast, picking fights, other dangerous behaviour
-
Subtle or
major changes in behaviour or personality - eg the person becomes sadder or
quieter, argues more than usual, is more tearful or becomes withdrawn

Not
performing as usual, or as expected, at school or work
-
Overuse of
drugs or alcohol
