[Company Logo Image]     Why Marry

Up

Sometimes engaged couples are asked by friends "why marry" in our current social climate.

Our society is faced with high divorce rates, the emotional trauma of failed relationships that affect couples and children.  It is no wonder that some people are negative about marriage.

The staff of the Anglican Counselling Service believe that relationships are important because God made us to relate and we desire good relationships.  A good, healthy relationship can provide mutual support, encouragement, and assist in personal growth in both good and bad times.

This sort of relationship can last a lifetime where both are willing to invest in the relationship.

The "Skills for the Road Ahead" programme offers ideas, skills and inspiration to start couples on their journey.  One past course participant said that "it was good to know others out there go through the same thing."  Another said that "It all was very worthwhile."

The Anglican Counselling Service marriage facilitators are trained to discuss any topic about relationships and have experience in educating both individual couples or groups of couples.
